Topic: Thought of the Day
“Good things come in small packages”. You’ve probably heard that a million times, yes? Do you believe it yet? Or are you the type that likes the BIG BANG sort of gift?
Have you ever called your partner and told him/her that you’re running late – that it’s been a horrible day – only to arrive at home to find that special someone making dinner for you? Cooking dinner - a big thing? Have you ever woken on Saturday morning with plans to go out with the boys to watch the game on the big screen TV, but instead woke your kids and took them out to breakfast? Spending a little time with your kids – a big thing? Have you ever run down to the quickie market for a quart of milk, and bought a rose to bring back to your partner? Thinking of your partner – a big thing?
Some of the littlest things you might do can bring about the biggest reactions – don’t under estimate the little things. My dad turns 75 years old next month and right now he’s living with cancer. Yes, it’s being treated, but it’s not all gone. You know what he’s doing this weekend? He took my mom camping. Camping – a big thing? No. Having cancer and still “LIVING” – a big thing? YES!!!
The choices are ours to make. Choose the little things, and if you must choose something big than choose a little thing but with BIG passion! Remember, diamonds come in the smallest of boxes.
