Whatcha wanna do?
Mood:

Topic: Thought of the Day
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day Whatcha wanna do? I dunno, whatcha wanna do? | Choice. The freedom of choice is one of the ultimate powers given us by our Creator. But how often do we deny that fact? “I have no choice!”, we protest. On a daily basis it seems we justify things to prove that we have no choice. Now millions of people are finally learning about the law of attraction and such, and are being told every thing is your fault. If it’s happening to you, no matter what “it” is, you created it by your thoughts in some way. Even I’ve said that. That concept is true, but it must be clarified. Every thought that comes into your head does not come to be physically manifested. Our thought will get the ball rolling that is for certain, but there are a lot more components to actually manifest things into your life. Life is not always what we would call fair. There are events that happen in this world that were not completely of our own making. There are times when we are swept into the energies of another. But we still have the freedom of choice. We have the choice of how we will respond to the events of our life. And remember, even choosing to do nothing - is a choice. Memorial Day Thoughts
Mood:
happy
Topic: Thought of the Day
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day Memorial Day Thoughts | On this Memorial Day, when we take the time to remember our fallen military heroes (and they deserve all the time in the world) I want us to also contemplate on what it means to BE a hero. If you go to a man or woman in uniform today to thank them for their service to our country, it’s my bet that many of them would be thinking, “I’m just doing my job”. Being a hero does not only mean rushing into a burning building to save a life … it’s not only grabbing the arm of a armed criminal saving life and property … it’s not only going to strange, foreign places to defend a broken people and bring back to them justice and some kind of peace … yes, it is all those thing, but these are almost super-hero feats. Being a hero is simply seeing what should be or must be done, and doing it. It is the woman who can walk out of her abusive relationship … it is the adolescent that can stand against peer pressure to remain drug free … it is the man needing a drink, but walks past the bar every night to be with his family. There are heroes all around us every day, and most importantly there is a hero inside of you! “Courage does not always roar, sometimes it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying ‘I will try again tomorrow’” (Mac Anderson). I salute YOU. The buck stops here
Mood:
happy
Topic: Thought of the Day
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day "The buck stops here" | The law of attraction states in a nutshell, you are what you think. Spiritual masters have taught us this from the beginning of time. The Buddha said; “What you think, you become”, Jesus said; “Ask and it shall be given, knock and the door will be answered”. This is a powerful thing, but it only goes so far. The other half of the law of attraction is full of a bunch of things. It’s where the “buck” truly stops. The other half is the “action” in “attrACTION”. The law of attraction may be, “you are what you think”, but the law of success is, “you are what you DO”. Our thoughts bring much to us, but if we do not answer the door when opportunity knocks then we have no one to blame but ourselves. So put your glasses of perspective and persistence on, and be prepared to push open that door. God rarely throws gifts in our laps. God presents to us the opportunity to go out and obtain the gifts; the gifts are there – we just have to grab the golden ring. Whooo Ahhhh!!! Have it your way!
Mood:
happy
Topic: Thought of the Day
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day "Have it your way" | “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet”, Jean-Jacques Rousseau said that, and it certainly rings true to me. It is because of this that so many people seem to lack patience today; they don't want to take that bitter pill. We live in a fast food disposable society where instant gratification is the norm. Technology has given us control over all the information we want, when we want it. We can call anyone, any time, we can access the internet any time, some of us can even go to work any time. You want it, you got it. But what has that done to our society? I’m not knocking technology – I think it’s great. Were it not for technology you’d not be reading this right now. But our instant, fast, disposable society has its risks. Are you impatient? Can you stand in a line without thinking, “three’s a crowd?”. Does the DMV drive you CRAZY! Impatience is the by product of this fast lane society (and if you look at my road rage, the fast lane is no longer fast enough!). The problem with this is that patience is a key emotion/skill for perseverance. Not everything will come to you to fulfill your feelings instant gratification. There are many things that will take perseverance. We’ve all heard the saying, “Good things come to those that wait”. This is what Rousseau is talking about, when he writes, “… but its fruit is sweet”. Patience and perseverance will bring to you all you want. Add a third “P” to the equation, and I will guarantee you success: PASSION. Are you lost? Use the right map
Mood:

Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day Are you lost? Use the right map. | Have you lost your way? You can’t seem to read the road signs anymore? You can’t seem to find your map, or worse you left without it! Not to worry. Your soul is the greatest GPS device known to man in your journey though life. The problem is, that while we are beings of energy, that energy right now is locked up in a body and mind/ego. It’s not a huge problem, but the body and mind can speak pretty loudly some times, so loud that we can no longer hear our soul. The soul will always try to get you where you’re going, we just can’t hear it all the time. So, we’ve developed tools, maps, goals, vision boards, coaches, therapists, and a plethora of others just to keep us on track. When all we really need is to be quiet enough to hear the whisperings of our soul. We’ve all experienced those moments when we didn’t walk down this street, or did make that phone call based on something we ‘felt’. Many call that intuition (and it is), but what they don’t say is that intuition is the voice of the soul that is screaming at you to do something. Usually the soul is much much quieter. It takes practice to hear the soul. This is what they call a spiritual practice: Meditate or pray daily. Do acts of random kindness ( ARK’s) and be aware of what your soul is telling you. Einstein once wrote; “The only real valuable thing is intuition.” We don’t always hear it, but then again we aren’t always listening. Listen. The Devil made me do it, but the Angels got me through it.

Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day The Devil made me do it, but the Angels got me through it. | “You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength” … Marcus Aurelius It’s amazing how little has changed over the centuries. A Roman Emperor said that around 170 AD, and it echoes even today in the hearts of many. Yes, it’s true that we have limited control over outside events, but I’ve always said, while we might not be able to control what is happening to us, we can always control how we react to it. There is strength in doing this as Caesar points out. Our integrity and sense of righteousness depends on our ability to do just that. You will find that if you “stick to your guns”, while it may be difficult at first, it does become easier and easier. If it does not become easier than a reevaluation of your values is needed. You can come out on top. You just have to see it from the right perspective. On your mark ... get set ... GO!
Mood:
happy
Topic: Thought of the Day
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day On your mark, get set... GO! | “To change one’s life: Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly.” William James said that, and it’s a pretty wise statement. I think we all can appreciate the need for change. How often do we think or say, “my life sucks”? We look at this or that, and wonder what it would look like if things were different. Things can be different. Amazingly, beautifully different, but just thinking about it won’t necessarily make that happen. Thinking about it is only the first step. The next step is what William James is talking about: Start immediately. Actions always speak louder than words, and if actions are louder than words, you can imagine how much louder than thought they are! So start, and don’t give yourself time to think about it. Often when we think about it, we start second guessing our own wisdom. Or the more we think about it, the more our shadow, or negative self talk, will take over and scare us out of our drive. The more flamboyant we are about things the more fun we have. The more fun we are having the easier a thing becomes. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing in a big way. You have a dream or a vision? Only you can make it happen. Others can help, but they won’t know about it until you START. . Dance to your own drum
Mood:
happy
Topic: Career
Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day Dance to your drum | In this difficult economic times, we may find ourselves in a job that no longer means anything to us. We don't dare quit however, because the odds of getting another job soon are very slim. So we stay in a place were the passion is gone (or perhaps was never there in the first place) and we are miserable. There are two things that can be done about this. Since much of the original job search can be done online, begin to actively search for another job. Keep in mind your passion however. If you are leaving a current job because of burnout, you shouldn't step right back into the same sort of job but only in a different environment (unless it is the environment that you are having trouble with). Seek your passion. There is a old saying that rings true; "If you love your profession, you will never have to work another day in your life". If you need more education to do this, go for it. There are plenty of night schools dedicated to the working adult. But what about the current job? How will you be able to cope dragging yourself to that place every day? First, you have to create the habit of positive self talk first thing in the morning. Waking up and thinking first thing; "uuuggghhhhh I don't want to go to work today!", serves no one (especially you). Instead wake up and be grateful that you have a job and paycheck (when so many do not), and be grateful that you'll have your new job soon. Then when you get to work, make sure you are working on some form of goal. If you don't have work goals, then your boss is not doing his/her job. If you are working toward a goal, you will have meaning, and with meaning comes a plethora of good feelings that will help you turn your attitude around. Remember we might not be able to control the things that happen to us, but we can ALWAYS control how we react to those things. Special: No Shipping fees!
Mood:
happy
Untitled Document In my life, and especially in this time of economic turmoil, I have seen way too many people feeling totally and thoroughly rejected. I've heard them say, or write again and again, the words; "my life sucks" I can understand how these people feel... I think that sometime in everyones life they feel like saying, "Can someone please tell me why my life sucks?!" I know I certainly could. There was a time in my life when I was being compared to Job (of Biblical fame). But after I had my heart attack and knowing full well that sort of thing can KILL you - I found a new understanding of the old saying, "if it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger". So I wrote this book hoping to share my experiences with other, and to perhaps help to keep some perspective. For a limited time only (May 1, 2010) Lulu.com is selling all material with free shipping. For under $10 you can get some insight on how to turn your "wounds into wisdom" (as Debbie Ford would say). Simply enter the code FREEMAIL305 on checkout and shipping fees will be reduced or removed. Here's what others are saying about my book: “My life sucks” is a wonderful book which will I feel help young teenagers and adults alike find their way in the world. We live in a world that contains crime, poverty, divorce, depression, all manner of negatives. This book gives the tools to help the individual deal with some of lifes challenges.I highly recommend it. ~Sasha~ This book by Richard Hills has a lot of elements of our reality that we face today, but may not notice. It included relegion, philosophy, quantim physics, science, and psychology that Richard has integrated in his book. It a help book that not only does it have one element that you may not suit you, but it has several that you may relate to! Great, short, and to the point! wonderful book to read to inspire you and does not take years or months- almost instant! ~Maria~ Your book is a self learning project, if you listen to yourself and know what you want and not let other obstacles and concerns from others points of views get in your mind,> as the way I read your book, I love the fact that religion is a role play here, as I believe in the Faith of God, I can relate to a lot of ways you point out in your book, just we have to find our which way we choose that suits us in our own life, very Uplifting and encouraging, lots of Hope indeed .. if we listen to our inner strength, ~Annette ~ Bright Blessings, Richard ~

Rejoice and be exceedingly glad

Greenman Coaching ~ Thought of the Day "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad..." | Today millions of Christians are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. Outside of his birth celebration at Christmas, this religious holiday is one of the most important, if not the most important holiday on the Christian calendar. But like Christmas, this day belongs not only to Christian’s but to anyone that wants to celebrate new life. They say, “remember the reason for the season”; if you are celebrating new life whether that includes the life of Jesus or not, then I say you are remembering the reason for the season. There are all kinds of religions in the world today, some that adhere to the teachings of Jesus and his apostles, and some that don’t. That is becoming less and less important today as long as there is tolerance for our brothers and sisters across the face of this world. The days of “our way is the only way to heaven”, while they still exist, a new spiritual revolution is bringing those days to an end. We are all connected and must act accordingly. My wish for you on this Holy day is that you have the sense of rebirth in your life. That you understand and know without a shadow of doubt, that resurrection in all things is possible. No matter where you are in you life’s procession, there will be no end to it, only rebirth and change. Revel in this day because its meaning is the core of your spiritual being ~ Happy Easter.
